A facial soap for sensitive skin must, above all, be gentle. This organic soap bar from Fair Squared is made with chamomile water, which soothes the skin, and mild oils of olive, coconut and apricot kernel. It gently cleanses without causing tightness, leaving delicate skin soothed and refreshed.
Why it’s a good facial soap for sensitive skin
Sensitive skin often reacts to perfume and harsh cleansers with redness and tightness. That’s why the soap is formulated with just a few, well-known ingredients. Chamomile water is known for its soothing effect, whilst shea butter and apricot kernel oil soften the skin whilst you wash. The result is clean skin that feels soothed rather than irritated.
Fair Squared makes the soap using a classic method, where the oils are gently saponified, preserving their moisturising properties. This is precisely why the bar feels more like a creamy wash than a traditional, harsh soap.
How to use the soap
- Moisten your face and hands with lukewarm water.
- Work the soap into a soft lather between your hands.
- Wash your skin using circular movements, avoiding the eyes.
- Rinse off and pat your skin dry with a clean towel.
Store the soap bar somewhere where water can drain away; this will make it last longer. A small, grooved soap dish is perfect, as it allows air to circulate from all sides. Incidentally, one bar lasts for many months of daily use and takes up hardly any space when travelling.
The lather is soft and light rather than thick and airy, which is a good sign. Large, foamy bubbles typically come from the very harsh foaming agents that sensitive skin is best off avoiding.
