Ancient Minerals Lotion is a moisturising lotion that combines magnesium chloride with organic oils. Each pump contains 30 mg of magnesium chloride. The nourishing formula is fragrance-free, suitable for the whole family and leaves the skin soft and well-nourished when used daily on the body and legs.
What’s in Ancient Minerals Lotion
As well as magnesium chloride from the pure Zechstein source, the lotion contains a range of well-known skincare ingredients. Squalane and shea butter soften, sweet almond oil and apricot kernel oil nourish, and hyaluronic acid locks moisture into the skin. Allantoin rounds off the formula with its gentle, skin-nourishing properties. Together, they create a lotion that absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue.
The lotion is neither sticky nor heavy, as mineral-based products can sometimes be. It glides easily onto the skin and leaves a soft, smooth finish that is completely fragrance-free, as the formula contains no perfume. The pump bottle makes it easy to dispense.
How to use the lotion
- Apply the lotion daily to clean skin, preferably after a bath or shower.
- Massage it into your body and legs using gentle movements.
- Avoid contact with the eyes, mucous membranes and open wounds; the lotion contains salt.
- Use it in the morning or evening, whichever suits your routine.
You may experience a slight tingling sensation on your skin the first few times you use it; this is due to the salt content. It usually subsides as your skin gets used to the lotion. You may wish to start with a smaller area for the first few days, such as your forearms or legs, so you can see how your skin reacts to it. With daily use, the bottle typically lasts a good month, depending on the size of the areas you treat.
