Iron, Liposomal, 250 ml

Liquid, liposomal iron, ideal for vegans, for those who exercise a lot, and for people with increased requirements. Iron contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin, to normal oxygen transport in the body, and to reducing tiredness and fatigue. A daily dose of 10 ml provides 15 mg, equivalent to the amount found in approximately 600 g of spinach.

Gentle iron in liquid form

Many people are familiar with traditional iron supplements in the form of large tablets, which can be hard on the stomach. Here, the mineral is bound as iron saccharate and encapsulated in phospholipid liposomes, in a liquid form without tablets. How to take the supplement

• Take 10 ml daily with a meal.
• Choose either morning or evening, whichever suits you best.
• Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
• Dietary supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.

Iron is found naturally in meat, pulses and green vegetables, but the iron in plants is more difficult for the body to absorb than that in meat. This is precisely why the requirement is often higher on a plant-based diet, just as intense exercise and menstruation increase iron consumption.

A practical tip is to take the dose with something containing vitamin C, such as a glass of orange juice, whilst it’s best to wait an hour before having coffee or tea; this way, your meal works with rather than against the supplement. The taste is mild and fruity, derived from sea buckthorn, without the metallic aftertaste that many associate with iron supplements. The bottle comes with a measuring cup and should be stored in a cool place once opened; as with all iron supplements, it should be kept out of reach of young children.
